Joining The Apex Team:

Carolyn has been an extremely valued member of the Apex team for nearly two years, providing support not only for our CEO Marlaine McCauley, but the entire staff.  She studied history at Pacific Lutheran University, where she was also the captain of the women’s crew team.  “I am really interested in people and how the world affects their lives, which ties into what I do here at Apex.  A large part of my job is supporting people or connecting them with the right resources,” Carolyn says.

Proactive Support

In a nutshell, Carolyn does an incredible job of anticipating what Marlaine and the Apex team need and provides the tools for them to be successful each and every day…and no two days are ever the same.

“Part of my job is to make sure Marlaine gets the support she needs to be the most successful leader that she can be, as well as being the onsite supervisor for human resources so that the employees here at Apex have someone to answer their questions and provide information,” she explains.

Carolyn also frequently coordinates meetings, schedules travel arrangements, assists the marketing team with website and social media support, and provides a helping hand wherever needed.  “I like the idea of being in a culture that supports growth and isn’t afraid to embrace new ideas,” she says.  “One of the biggest strengths at Apex is out employees, and I have really found that I am able to get great feedback from coworkers who can in turn support me.”

Family Weekends

Carolyn and her husband Jason recently adopted two children, and enjoy planning fun family activities for the weekends.  Some of their favorites include going to the zoo, camping, hiking and going to baseball games.  “I don’t mind a good day of shopping and getting my nails done,” Carolyn adds with a smile.
