  • Size: 10,000 SqFt
  • Headcount: 115 employees
  • Location: Seattle, WA
  • Project Duration: 9 months

Apex was given the unique opportunity to develop a “test space” that would allow employees to discover their desired work style preferences. Prior to completion, employees experienced cramped, high-paneled cubicles and harsh lighting within a maze-like layout.

To resolve these issues, a flexible, open layout was designed to accommodate various generational preferences and a larger headcount. Demountable walls, focus enclaves, and high-back seating were installed to increase acoustic and visual privacy.

Ergonomic furnishings were installed to promote employee wellness and productivity. Apex bridged the gap between workspace design and ergonomics with sit-to-stand desks, moveable monitor arms, and height-adjustable conference tables.

The test space was a success, as we’re now in the planning stages of redesigning the entire workspace. Committee for Children reported, "There have been many positive reactions to the new furniture from employees. Everyone loves the look and finish selections that were made. We're extremely happy."

Client Testimonial:
The new space allows for more collaboration, which is good because most of our staff work together on projects. The old space had a closed-off feel, and entering someone’s workstation felt intrusive. It's so much easier to move around since there's an open layout.
